Baking Powder

I’ve been making my own baking powder for years.  I got the recipe from “Nourishing Traditions” by Sally Fallon.

Conventional baking powder contains aluminum, a known neurotoxin.  So unless you’re buying aluminum-free baking powder, this would be an easy health change for you!

Baking Powder
1 Tbsp Baking Soda
2 Tbsp Cream of Tartar
2 Tbsp Arrowroot Powder

Simply mix all three ingredients and store in airtight jar.  I make a large jar-full that lasts me a while.

If you need to use baking powder right away in a recipe, you can omit the arrowroot and just do 1 part Baking Soda with 2 parts Cream of Tartar.
